Precision Green Tea Toddy

In winter, I’m teaching in cozy leg warmers, wool hoodies, and adjusting clients with my palms and forearms so I don’t freeze them with my sub-zero finger tips. Yes, I said legwarmers. The 1980’s will never die as far as I’m concerned.

Today, instead of heating up with hundreds or pushups between sessions I brought in a Precision Green Tea Toddy. No alcohol of course. Instead, I steeped in a generous amount of cinnamon and rosemary because they have both been shown to increase circulation and warm your extremities. And they smell incredible! Precision Green Tea has a brilliant vegetal and well-rounded edge. A spoonful of honey for sweetness and a healthy squeeze of lemon for a bright punch of Vitamin C, and I was toasty from nose to toes.

Vitamin C Helps Hold Us Together

Most of us know that vitamin C improves our immune system, but it also helps hold our cells together. Vitamin C is a coenzyme that converts procollagen (the precursor to collagen) into collagen, an insoluble and fibrous protein shaped like a helix.  Collagen acts like scaffolding, binding cells together. It also prevents bruising and bone fractures and slows the appearance of wrinkles. Without vitamin C we not only age faster, we literally fall apart. Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that can’t be stored in the body like fat-soluble vitamins, so consume it regularly. Better yet, make it a part of your daily life.

Efficiency Over Intensity

More on step 5. Precision: Aim at your truth. Create big change by shifting small habits.

Learn to tame your intensity. Reconstructing habits takes self-negotiation and strategic planning. Be patient and kind with your progress. Talk yourself through this series of questions and write down your answers.

What is my one small habit that will help me with my goal?

Where will I perform this habit?

When will I perform this habit?

How will I perform this habit?

Why am I performing this habit?

Laying out planned and attainable steps into our daily life gives us the grace to adapt to the person we are becoming.

Once you have mastered this small habit to the point where it's automatic, repeat the same process with the next habit on the list. Your steady pace will compound into unrecognizable transformation.
