Can I put peppermint tea in a smoothie?

Peppermint tea is so lovely all on its own, but did you know you can put chilled peppermint tea in smoothies? Breathing Peppermint Tea is delicate, fresh and US-grown in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Peppermint tea is known to settle stomachs, open sinuses and relieve headaches.  Prepare to have your mind blown. This is a tasty one.

Smoothies are a great way to pack in antioxidants and recharge from a workout. I made this recipe last week and drank it after an upper body training session. The cooling mint and citrus zing revived my little arms from 30 minutes of planks, handstands and kettlebell swings. Booya!

Lesser-known super power of vitamin A

This smoothie packs a pretty good vitamin A punch from clementine and kale in the form of carotenoids. The most well-known fact about vitamin A is vision support, but it also helps our stem cells know whether to become skin cells, or eye cells, or lung cells. So cool! When we are deficient, our stem cells get confused and don’t know what to become. We are left with faulty barriers to shield us from irritants and microbes.

A sip of self-love

More on step 1. Breathing: Bring yourself back to the present. Foster self-love by holding space.

Intentional breathing is a form of self-love. Taking a moment to breathe deeply when experiencing pain or stress can calm our nerves and help you move through a situation. Our body is trying to communicate with us, and breathing can help us hold space long enough to listen.

Try those six slow and deliberate breaths again. By the end of those six breaths, you just might feel more durable, composed, and open to hearing your own needs.

PILATEA's Breathing Peppermint Tea and Citrus Smoothie

Breathing Peppermint Tea Smoothie

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Brew one to two sachets of Breathing: Peppermint Tea in 1 ½ cups water for 5 minutes to 15 minutes. Remove sachets and refrigerate to cool.
  2. Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Serve in your favorite smoothie glass

Recipe Notes

  • Don’t want to use coconut milk? Add another form of fat like a nut butter.
  • Trying to eat low sugar? Then sans the apple and double the fat or kale.
  • Hate the taste of kale? Add spinach instead.
  • I like smoothies on the thinner side. If you want a thicker smoothie, use only 1 cup of water for tea brewing.
  • Serves one
